      1. Cut 2 paper cups in half and tape them to opposite sides of a pencil. 2. Poke a small hole through the center of the pencil and insert a pushpin to secure it in place, allowing it to spin. 3. Use a straw to create a handle; tape it to the pencil's top for easy holding. 4. Take your anemometer outside on a windy day and hold it up. 5. Count how many times the cups spin in 10 seconds. 6. Record your results and compare with a family member — who measured the strongest wind?
