Try it with your learner
1. Gather a clear jar, sand, soil, small rocks, and leaves. 2. Layer 1: Pour a layer of sand about 2 cm thick into the jar. 3. Layer 2: Add a 2 cm layer of soil on top of the sand. 4. Layer 3: Place a layer of small rocks (1 cm) on the soil. 5. Layer 4: Add crushed leaves (1 cm) on top of the rocks. 6. Observe your jar and discuss why each layer matters for plants.
