1. Cut a cardboard circle (30 cm diameter) to serve as the sun. 2. Use colored paper to create 8 different-sized planet circles. 3. Attach each planet with string of varying lengths to the cardboard sun. 4. Secure a stick vertically at the center of the sun to create a spinning axis. 5. Spin the model and observe how the planets move in relation to their distance from the sun. 6. Discuss with your family how the distance affects the speed of the planets.
