Try it with your learner
1. Gather clear plastic cups, soil, sand, pebbles, and water. 2. Fill the bottom of the cup with a layer of pebbles (1 cm). 3. Add a layer of sand on top of the pebbles (2 cm). 4. Finally, add a layer of soil on top (3 cm). 5. Pour a little water into the soil to see how it absorbs. 6. Observe your soil profile and discuss what each layer does for plants.
