Using embodied cognition, children feel the vibrations of sound waves as they create music. This physical interaction with sound helps them internalize the concept of vibrations generating sound, making it relatable and easier to grasp.
1. Take a plastic bottle and fill it with varying levels of water (1/4, 1/2, 3/4 full). 2. Use a wooden spoon to gently tap the bottle. 3. Listen to the different sounds produced at each water level. 4. Experiment by adding more water or tapping harder to change the sound. 5. Discuss which level created the deepest or highest sound. 6. Share your findings with a family member — which sound did they like best?
