1. Gather 10 beads of different colors (representing different atoms). 2. Choose a model to create: water (H2O) or carbon dioxide (CO2). 3. Use a toothpick to connect the beads according to the molecular structure: 2 H beads + 1 O bead for water, or 1 C bead + 2 O beads for carbon dioxide. 4. Label your model with a small piece of paper for clarity. 5. Share your models with a family member and explain how the atoms bond together. 6. Challenge yourself to create a more complex molecule like glucose (C6H12O6) using the same beads!
