Experiencing an ecosystem in a bottle allows children to visualize and engage with ecological processes. By observing changes over time, they utilize Bruner's CPA approach, moving from concrete interactions to abstract understanding of ecosystem dynamics.
1. Gather a clear plastic bottle, soil, small plants, and pebbles. 2. Add a layer of pebbles at the bottom of the bottle for drainage. 3. Add a layer of soil on top of the pebbles. 4. Plant small plants in the soil, ensuring roots are covered. 5. Pour a small amount of water into the bottle to moisten the soil. 6. Seal the bottle and place it in indirect sunlight; observe changes daily.
