1. Gather 3 clear cups and fill the first one with water. 2. Add a few drops of food coloring to the water in the first cup. 3. Place the cups in a row, with the first cup on one end. 4. Cut a paper towel into 2 strips and dip one end of each into the colored water. 5. Place the other ends of the strips into the empty cups. 6. Watch and record how the colored water travels along the paper towel strips — how long does it take to reach the next cup?
