      1. Gather a clear jar, soil, sand, pebbles, and small stones. 2. Start with 2 cm of pebbles at the bottom of the jar. 3. Add 3 cm of sand on top of the pebbles. 4. Layer 5 cm of soil on top of the sand. 5. Observe the distinct layers and label them. 6. Share your jar with family — what do you notice about each layer?
