This activity illustrates the Earth's layers — crust, mantle, outer, and inner core — using a cake as a model. By physically creating and slicing through the cake, children visualize and understand the structure and composition of our planet.

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C and gather ingredients for a basic cake (flour, sugar, eggs, butter, baking powder). 2. Divide the batter into 4 bowls and color each with different food coloring to represent the Earth's layers: brown (crust), yellow (mantle), red (outer core), and dark blue (inner core). 3. Pour the colored batters into a round cake tin, layering one on top of the other. 4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, then let it cool. 5.
