1. Mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of water in a bowl. 2. Dip a cotton swab into the mixture and write a secret message on white paper. 3. Allow the paper to dry completely. 4. Carefully heat the paper over a light bulb or iron on low settings (with adult supervision). 5. Watch as the message appears! Be sure to keep it moving to avoid burning. 6. Discuss what happened during the process and the science behind it.
