      Try it with your learner

      1. Take a plastic bottle and remove the cap. 2. Fill the bottle with about 1/4 cup of water. 3. Insert a paper straw into the bottle, ensuring it reaches the water but does not touch the bottom. 4. Quickly cover the top of the bottle with your palm to seal it. 5. Press down on the bottle and release — watch it launch! 6. Measure how high it went and try adjusting the water level. What happens?
