1. Shape a volcano using clay or play-dough around a plastic bottle. 2. Fill the bottle with 2 tablespoons of baking soda. 3. Add a few drops of food coloring for lava effect. 4. Pour in 1/2 cup of vinegar and watch the eruption! 5. Observe the fizzing and bubbling — how does it look? 6. Discuss what happened and try adjusting the amounts — how does it change the eruption?
