      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather 5 small cups and label them: water, saltwater, sugar water, lemon juice, vinegar. 2. In the first cup, mix 1 teaspoon of salt into 100 ml of water, stirring until dissolved. 3. In the second cup, mix 1 teaspoon of sugar into 100 ml of water, stirring until dissolved. 4. Take a small LED light bulb and connect its ends to the third cup with saltwater — note if it lights up. 5. Repeat step 4 for lemon juice and vinegar. 6. Record your observations: which liquids lit up the bulb and why?
