1. Gather a clean glass jar with a lid. 2. Add a layer of small stones (1 cm deep) for drainage. 3. Sprinkle a layer of activated charcoal (1 cm) to filter the water. 4. Add potting soil (4 cm deep) and plant a small seedling or some grass seeds. 5. Pour a little water until the soil is damp, then place small insects or earthworms in. 6. Seal the jar and place it in indirect sunlight. Observe for a week — what changes do you see?
