1. Gather a clear plastic bottle, colored sand, or soil (red, yellow, brown, black). 2. Pour a layer of red sand for the crust at the bottom of the bottle (1 inch). 3. Add a layer of yellow sand for the mantle (1 inch). 4. Pour black sand for the outer core (1 inch). 5. Finally, add a small ball of clay or playdough for the inner core on top. 6. Discuss with your partner what each layer represents and why it matters.
