1. Gather a plastic bottle, paper, a ruler, and a permanent marker. 2. Cut the top off the bottle and turn it upside down to create a rain gauge. 3. Use the ruler to measure and mark 1 cm increments on the side of the bottle. 4. Place the bottle in an open area to collect rainwater over the next few days. 5. Record the amount of rain collected each day on a piece of paper. 6. Discuss how the weather changed and what might have caused it.
