      1. Gather a shoe box and paint it black to represent space. 2. Use clay to create 8 different sized balls for the planets. 3. Carefully place these balls in the box, spacing them according to their real distances from the sun. 4. Label each planet with its name and position. 5. Share your model with family, explaining the unique features of each planet. 6. Measure the distances between planets and compare — how far apart are they really?
