1. Gather 3 pots with soil and plant a seedling in each. 2. Prepare 1 cup of vinegar (acid), 1 cup of baking soda solution (base), and 1 cup of plain water (neutral). 3. Water one pot with vinegar, one with baking soda, and leave the last one with plain water. 4. Observe the plants daily for a week, noting any changes in growth or color. 5. Record your observations in a notebook each day. 6. Discuss with a family member how the different substances affected the plants.
