1. Gather a small bucket of soil from your garden or a flower pot. 2. Place a sieve or mesh over a bowl to catch sifted materials. 3. Pour the soil into the sieve and shake it gently. 4. Observe and collect the different components: rocks, sand, and organic matter. 5. Categorize what you find: which is largest? Which is smallest? 6. Discuss with Amma or Appa how different soils help plants grow.
