Try it with your learner
1. Grab a small spade or trowel and a container. 2. Find a spot in your garden or nearby park. 3. Dig down about 5-10 cm and collect a sample of topsoil. 4. Dig deeper to gather subsoil from 15-20 cm down. 5. Observe and describe the color, texture, and smell of both samples. 6. Discuss which plants might thrive in each type of soil.
