      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Using embodied cognition, children actively engage in observing changes as they create the mini water cycle. The visual element reinforces learning, helping them remember the process better as they see water transform in real time.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take a clear plastic ziplock bag and fill it with 1/4 cup of water. 2. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to the water. 3. Seal the bag tightly and tape it to a sunny window. 4. Observe the bag over several days as the sun heats the water. 5. Watch for condensation forming on the bag and how it eventually 'rains' back down. 6. Discuss what happens at each stage with your family!
