      Why It Works

      The learning connection

By creating a mini greenhouse, children engage in embodied cognition, physically interacting with their environment to observe changes. This inquiry-based approach encourages curiosity and deeper understanding of plant needs, reinforcing learning through observation.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take a small plastic bottle and cut it in half horizontally. 2. Fill the bottom half with soil (about 2 inches). 3. Plant 5 small seeds (like sunflower or green gram) evenly in the soil. 4. Water the seeds gently until the soil is moist but not soggy. 5. Place the top half of the bottle upside down over the bottom half to create a greenhouse effect. 6. Observe daily and note changes in growth for a week!
