      Why It Works

      The learning connection

By physically creating seed bombs, children engage in embodied cognition, connecting their actions to environmental stewardship. This hands-on experience allows children to visualize the impact of planting seeds, reinforcing the learning that their actions can make a difference.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Gather 1 cup of clay powder and 1 cup of compost. 2. Add 1/2 cup of native seeds (like marigold or bael). 3. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl until combined. 4. Slowly add water, mixing until it forms a dough-like consistency. 5. Roll the mixture into small balls (about the size of a marble). 6. Let the seed bombs dry for 24 hours before planting them in your garden or empty lots.
