Try it with your learner
1. Gather a clear plastic container or jar. 2. Collect soil samples from different locations (garden, park, etc.). 3. Layer the samples in the container, starting with the topsoil, then subsoil, and finally bedrock. 4. Observe and label each layer's color and texture. 5. Discuss how each layer supports different plant life. 6. Share your findings with family members!
