      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Embodied cognition links physical action (making seed bombs) to abstract concepts (planting and biodiversity), deepening understanding. Children engage in a playful process that symbolizes their role in nature's recovery, reinforcing Vygotsky's scaffolding through real-world applications.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Collect 1 cup of clay powder, 1 cup of compost, and 1 cup of native flower seeds. 2. Mix the clay and compost in a bowl until crumbly. 3. Add the flower seeds and stir gently. 4. Gradually add water, forming a dough-like consistency. 5. Shape the mixture into small balls (about the size of a marble). 6. Let the seed bombs dry for a day before planting them in your backyard or a nearby vacant land.
