      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Constructing a physical model engages multiple senses, supporting Vygotsky's scaffolding principle. By observing changes in the jar, children connect theory to real-world phenomena, reinforcing their learning through observation and reflection.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take a clear glass jar and fill it with 1 cup of warm water. 2. Cover the jar tightly with plastic wrap, ensuring it is sealed. 3. Place a few ice cubes on top of the plastic wrap. 4. Wait for 10-15 minutes, observing the jar. 5. Note any water droplets forming on the underside of the plastic wrap. 6. Discuss: What stage of the water cycle are you seeing?
