      The learning connection

By engaging in a tangible setup, children visualize and understand complex ecological concepts. This aligns with Bruner's CPA approach, as they construct knowledge through the concrete experience of creating and monitoring their ecosystem.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take a clear plastic bottle and cut it in half. 2. Fill the bottom half with soil (about 5 cm deep). 3. Plant small seeds or grass in the soil. 4. Add a few small pebbles around the soil for drainage. 5. Fill the top half with water, then invert it over the bottom half, creating a sealed environment. 6. Place it in a sunny spot and observe changes daily for a week.
