How the activity runs

  1. Step 1: Take a clear plastic bottle and remove the cap.
  2. Step 2: Fill a bowl with water, leaving some space at the top.
  3. Step 3: Quickly invert the bottle into the bowl, opening side down.
  4. Step 4: Observe how the water stays inside the bottle.
  5. Step 5: Discuss why the air inside the bottle keeps the water from flowing out.
