This activity fosters creativity and problem-solving by repurposing waste materials into art. Children learn to think critically about recycling while engaging their imagination in art creation.
Embodied cognition comes into play as children manipulate materials to brainstorm and build. As they physically shape their sculptures, they gain a deeper understanding of form, function, and sustainability.
1. Collect various recyclable materials (plastic bottles, cardboard, old newspapers). 2. Choose an animal you want to create. 3. Use scissors to cut and shape the materials into body parts. 4. Glue the parts together to form a sculpture. 5. Paint or decorate your creature with colors. 6. Share your sculpture with family, explaining how it represents your chosen animal.
