      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Using the CPA approach, children can construct their storyboard (concrete), draw individual scenes (pictorial), and narrate their story (abstract), deepening their comprehension through visual representation.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Take a sheet of cardboard and cut it into 6 equal rectangular panels. 2. Decide on a short story or scene to animate. 3. In each panel, draw a key moment of your story using colored markers. 4. Number the panels in sequence to show the story progression. 5. Share your storyboard with a family member and explain each panel. 6. What parts of your story are the most exciting — would you change anything?
