Engaging in mystery-solving promotes critical thinking through active exploration. Utilizing Vygotsky's scaffolding, children are guided to think independently as they collaborate to decipher clues, fostering deeper cognitive connections.

      Try it with your learner

      1. Prepare 5 index cards with different numbers (1-20) hidden under cups. 2. Create 5 clues that relate to each number, like 'I'm thinking of a number greater than 10 but less than 15.' 3. Distribute the cups randomly around a table. 4. Set a timer for 15 minutes and start guessing! Use the clues to uncover the numbers. 5. Once a number is guessed, remove the cup and check the answer with the clue. 6. Discuss which clues were most helpful and why!
