Dual-tasking enhances cognitive flexibility, as kids must remember while following instructions. This engages their working memory actively, allowing for effective retrieval practice through immediate recall.
1. Gather 5 small household items (like a spoon, a coin, a toy, a pencil, and an eraser). 2. Place all items on a tray and cover with a cloth for 1 minute. 3. Remove the cloth and study the items for 30 seconds. 4. Cover the tray again, then write down as many items as you can remember. 5. Uncover the tray and check your list. Count how many you got right! 6. Challenge a family member to see who remembers more items!
