Using a visual Sudoku grid promotes cognitive load management, allowing children to focus on one quadrant at a time. The challenge encourages them to apply Vygotsky’s scaffolding, where they build upon their existing knowledge and progressively learn to solve more complex puzzles.
1. Draw a 4x4 grid on paper and divide it into four smaller squares. 2. Fill in some numbers (1-4) randomly, leaving some spaces blank. 3. Set a timer for 10 minutes. 4. Solve the puzzle by placing numbers in blank spaces without repeating in a row or column. 5. When complete, check with a partner for correctness. 6. Swap puzzles and solve each other's for extra practice!
