Using Bruner's CPA approach, children first create concrete drawings, then represent their ideas pictorially, and finally abstract their narrative into an animation. This structured progression enhances comprehension of storytelling and visual sequencing.
1. Gather paper, colored pencils, and a ruler. 2. Fold the paper into 6 equal sections to create a storyboard. 3. In each section, draw a scene of your story, like a hero's journey. 4. Write a few key words beneath each drawing to describe the action. 5. Share your storyboard with a family member and explain your animation idea. 6. Imagine how it would look if it were animated — what would move?
