Utilizing embodied cognition, this scent-based scavenger hunt encourages children to connect sensory experiences with mental focus. Each discovery reinforces memory by making the learning process interactive and enjoyable.
1. Gather 5 small containers and fill them with different scents (like lemon, spices, soap). 2. Hide the containers around a room while your child closes their eyes. 3. Let your child open their eyes and start searching for the containers using their nose to guide them. 4. Each time they find a container, ask them to describe the scent. 5. Once all are found, discuss what they liked most about each scent. 6. Challenge them to create a new scent to add to the hunt next time.
