      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Incorporating movement and role-play engages children’s bodies and minds, supporting embodied cognition. This method allows them to experience rights and duties firsthand, making connections that enhance retention through active involvement.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Prepare index cards with various human rights (e.g., right to education, right to equality). 2. Write corresponding roles (e.g., teacher, community leader) on separate cards. 3. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in two piles. 4. Split into teams; each team picks one card from each pile. 5. Teams create a short skit showing the right and its corresponding role. 6. Perform the skits for each other — what did you learn about your rights?
