This activity trains reasoning and problem-solving skills through structured logic puzzles. Children learn to break down complex problems into manageable steps, fostering critical analysis and system thinking.
Using Bruner's CPA approach, children start with concrete examples (simple puzzles) and advance to abstract reasoning (complex challenges). As they solve puzzles, they engage in cognitive reorganization, enhancing their ability to tackle new problems.
1. Gather 10 different puzzle cards with logic problems (create or print them). 2. Shuffle and place them face down in a stack. 3. Take turns picking one puzzle card and read it aloud. 4. Solve the puzzle together, discussing different solutions. 5. Once solved, place the card at the 'top' of your imaginary ladder. 6. Reflect on which puzzles were hardest and why — what strategies helped?
