Using real leaves and flowers engages children's senses and promotes embodied cognition. They physically press and roll, creating a tangible link between nature and their artwork, which aids memory retention of shapes and textures.
1. Collect 5 different leaves or flowers from your garden. 2. Spread a thin layer of paint on a plate. 3. Dip one leaf in the paint, covering it well. 4. Press the painted leaf onto a sheet of paper and apply slight pressure. 5. Carefully lift the leaf to reveal the print. 6. Repeat with other leaves and create a beautiful nature collage.
