This activity promotes embodied cognition as children manipulate clay, reinforcing spatial awareness and motor coordination. The creative process of forming a cup encourages trial and error, fostering problem-solving skills as they navigate the challenges of construction.
1. Take a handful of air-dry clay (about 200g). 2. Roll it into a smooth ball on the table. 3. Press your thumb into the center to create a hollow shape. 4. Pinch the edges to form the cup's rim and smooth them out. 5. Add decorations with tools or your fingers, like patterns or shapes. 6. Let your cup dry completely before using it.
