Engaging in tactile activities like pottery leverages embodied cognition, where physical manipulation of materials deepens understanding of shapes and designs. Children visualize abstract concepts through hands-on experience, enhancing spatial awareness and creativity.
1. Take a lump of air-dry clay (about 200 grams). 2. Flatten the clay into a disc shape using your palms. 3. Gently pinch the edges to form a bowl shape, pressing from the bottom. 4. Use your fingers to smooth out the surface, creating even walls. 5. Decorate the bowl with patterns using a toothpick or small tools. 6. Let your bowl dry completely, then show it to your family!
