Using a physical 4x4 grid engages children in embodied cognition. They visualize the placement of numbers, which helps reduce cognitive load and makes the problem-solving process clearer and more intuitive.
1. Draw a 4x4 grid on paper. 2. Fill in 4 random numbers from 1 to 4 in various boxes. 3. Discuss with a partner which numbers can go where without repeating. 4. Fill in the empty boxes by deducing possibilities. 5. Check if every row and column has all numbers from 1 to 4. 6. Swap grids with a friend and solve each other's puzzles!
