      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Mindful observation taps into embodied cognition, allowing children to learn through real-world interactions. By focusing on specified objects, they experience increased neural connectivity as they engage multiple senses in the learning process.

      Try it with your learner

      1. Create a list of 5 nature items to find (like a leaf, flower, or stone). 2. Grab a small bag to collect your items. 3. Go outside and start looking for the items on your list. 4. When you find an item, take a moment to observe its color, texture, and shape. 5. Collect it in your bag, remembering to stay focused on your list. 6.
