Children learn about textures and colors while observing nature. This activity encourages creativity and fine motor skills as they arrange and glue different natural items.
By engaging with real materials from their environment, children experience embodied cognition; they are not just learning about nature but feeling its textures and seeing its colors, helping them better remember and understand these concepts.
1. Go outside and collect different leaves, flowers, and twigs (at least 5 of each). 2. Gather a piece of cardboard or thick paper as your collage base. 3. Arrange the collected items on the cardboard in any creative way you like. 4. Use glue to attach each piece securely. 5. Once dry, describe your collage to someone — what story does it tell? 6. Display it somewhere in your home for everyone to see!
