This activity cultivates creativity and enhances observational skills as children learn to appreciate textures and colors found in nature. By arranging leaves, flowers, and twigs, they experience the process of design and composition.
Engaging with natural materials supports embodied cognition, allowing children to physically interact with their environment, sparking creativity while enhancing fine motor skills through cutting and gluing.
1. Go outside and collect various leaves, flowers, and twigs (at least 5 of each). 2. Gather a piece of cardboard or a thick paper as your collage base. 3. Arrange your collected items on the cardboard in a creative pattern. 4. Glue down each item securely. 5. Add colors or textures using crayons or colored paper if desired. 6. Discuss with your Amma or Didi what you enjoyed most about your nature collage.
