      The learning connection

Focusing on minute details enhances cognitive processing by engaging children in a real-world scavenger hunt. This hands-on experience allows them to practice selective attention, which is vital for learning and memory.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Choose 5 small objects from around your home (like a toy, spoon, or book). 2. Cover these objects with a cloth or place them in a box. 3. Write down clues for each object describing its color, shape, or texture. 4. Remove the cover and give your family 2 minutes to find all the objects. 5. Celebrate when they find each one! Discuss how they used clues to spot the items. 6. Swap roles and let them create clues for you to find their hidden objects.
