Using embodied cognition, children physically create and manipulate their emotion jars, making feelings more tangible. This sensory approach encourages reflection on their emotions, fostering better communication and emotional literacy.
1. Gather a clear jar, colored paper, and markers. 2. Write one emotion on each colorful paper — happy, sad, angry, etc. 3. Fold each paper and add it to the jar. 4. Whenever you feel a certain emotion, pick the corresponding paper from the jar. 5. Share with your family about a time you felt that emotion. 6. Discuss how to handle different feelings together.
