      Why It Works

      The learning connection

Engaging in physical and mental tasks simultaneously enhances neural connections, demonstrating Vygotsky's scaffolding. The challenge of balancing both activities ensures children stay actively engaged, refining their concentration skills.

      Extend the Lesson

      Try it with your learner

      1. Draw a simple maze on a large sheet of paper using a marker. 2. Choose a small ball like a tennis ball or a soft toy. 3. Stand at the start of the maze, holding the ball. 4. Begin to walk through the maze while gently bouncing the ball on your other hand. 5. Try to reach the end of the maze without losing control of the ball! 6. Time yourself and try to improve your speed while keeping the ball in motion.
