Using art to track emotions leverages embodied cognition, as children physically express feelings through colors and shapes. This stimulates deeper reflection and reinforces emotional awareness by connecting abstract moods to tangible representations.
1. Gather a large sheet of paper and colored markers or crayons. 2. Draw a large heart or circle in the center. 3. Choose a color for each emotion (happy, sad, angry, etc.). 4. Each day, reflect on your mood and color a section of the heart according to how you feel. 5. Write a few words around it to describe why you felt that way. 6. Share your mood tracker with your family and discuss your feelings.
