This activity introduces basic entrepreneurial concepts, like supply and demand, through real-life selling. Children learn how to set prices and interact with customers, developing critical thinking and communication skills.
Experiential learning through role-play engages children deeply, allowing them to understand market dynamics firsthand. Using Vygotsky’s scaffolding, they receive feedback from family members, guiding their understanding and decision-making in a supportive environment.
1. Decide on a product you can make (cookies, crafts, etc.). 2. Gather materials to create 5 items (e.g., 10 cookies, 5 paper crafts). 3. Set prices for each item (consider cost and time). 4. Create signs to showcase your items and prices. 5. Invite family members to your market and sell! 6. Discuss with them how much money you made and what worked well.
